Hi!
I am Ashleigh, Baby and Child Sleep Specialist, Early Childhood Educator, and most importantly a mum!
Before I became a Child Sleep Specialist I was the director at a long day care centre in Sydney, Australia. This is when I first discovered the importance of sleep for babies, and how challenging this area can be for families! The number one topic for families was always sleep. I wanted to ensure I was creating a care environment that best supported children’s sleep needs so I started to look into the science behind sleep.
I decided to study as a infant and child sleep consultant so I could learn more about sleep, how to create positive sleep environments, support children with routine, and the importance of nutrition and sleep.
I now have my own son Harry, and have been able to put my sleep knowledge and expertise to the test. My little man certainly put me through my paces with colic and reflux, he pretty much spent the first 3 months of his life in a front pack and I never thought a 2 hour cot nap would be possible for him - let alone a pram nap! But, as I have told clients before, it is often the thought of sleep training that is the hardest part – our babies surprise us and adapt so well!
Sleep training and routine helped our family so much. Harry was a much happier child getting the independent sleep he needed, and I felt so much more confident as a mum knowing he was getting the sleep he needed – as well as getting some time to myself when he napped. I have seen first-hand how important routine is for some babies and just how important good nourishment is for baby’s sleep.
After going through Sleep Training with Harry, I have a new found energy for supporting families in achieving their sleep goals. A happy, well rested baby really does make for a happy family. I am passionate about helping support you and your family to reach your sleep goals, and I understand this can be a big step and investment to take, but together we can create a consistent plan to support your babies sleep.
